UWF CENTER FOR CYBERSECURITY EXPANDS TO DOWNTOWN

This project is a 10,000 s.f. tenant improvement space for the nationally recognized Center for Cybersecurity at the University of West Florida.

Construction is complete for the new and exciting Center for Cybersecurity. Located on the second floor of the recently renovated Studer Tower in downtown Pensacola, this space will provide a highly visible location for UWF and the Center for Cybersecurity. The space includes includes off campus faculty offices, training SOC, a cyber training lab, an innovation studio, and meeting space. The public will be allowed to tour a portion of the facility showcasing the unique program offerings and technology, and the space overlooks the highly active first floor lobby through full height glazing provided at its perimeter.

The tenant was intentional about requesting softer wood tones and coastal themes to contrast with the high tech cybersecurity uses and equipment. This was particularly critical given the lack of any exterior windows which, while functional to the use, presented challenges to creating productive workspaces. Through the use of extensive glass storefront systems, we were able to bring the ambient light in from the adjacent 2 story lobby – enough to daylight nearly the entire footprint of the tenant space. Users were thrilled to see that their new facility could provide both functional and beautiful spaces supportive of their work culture, mission, and pedagogy.
